Albatross Archive Cardiff, UK

Albatross Archive are a musical entourage based in Cardiff.

They primarily play keys and drums, sing as best as they can, and fiddle around with electronic gear that makes strange noises even stranger.

They write songs in the styles that interest us at the time.

They thank you for your time and think you are lovely.

Track Name: One By One
One by one you count my dreams, and
Build them up and break their seams, and
Take apart without a word, and
Make them completely absurd

You tear me apart from me,
You tear me apart with a single word

I'll list the things that you say I can't do, I can't
Think, I can't listen, I sing out of tune,
I wish nothing for you but the very best, but I
Think with my heart that your head is a mess
Track Name: Sodium
The sodium silver of the streetlight colours your eyes,
As the taste of your sweat and the cigarette comes to life

We love sound and we love noise and we love breaking all our toys,
It's our home away from home

Take a ticket, try to step in line, those clocks tick fast to kill some time
With the 'Hey', and the 'Ho', yeah it gets so old before it
Even gets let out into the world

It's our home away from home away from home away from home

And I would do most anything for you
I hang on every word you say
Yeah it's just such a pointless point of view
But still it never goes away

So I tell a secret, something secret, something you shouldn't show,
But the lies paralyse all the eyes that're watching the show

We love sound, we love noise, we love breaking all of our toys
With each sound, we'll destroy, it's not something we can avoid,
But I think, and I know
And I drink, and I show
WIth each drink, it gets old
And I think, I get owned
I pay for what I'm sold
Track Name: King Of Hearts
The clubs you dealt so readily weren't the empty threats you promised me
Diamonds ready, you hid them well, but I learnt your tricks and I learnt your tell

And every game played in one clear night, my love, my hate, my shattered pride
The cracks in your armour appeared like lights, and on my face it showed

The King of Hearts, you know your game,
The moves to make, and who's to blame

But you hate to lose, you tear me down, 'til my eyes are filled with tears
So I'll bide my time, think underground, and watch with you with blind panic

Now I see
Track Name: Illustrations
Well it's my illustrations that help us to learn
And if that doesn't help we've got paper to burn
As directions that lead us where we wanna be
But I need some release so the pieces are free

So we'll follow the leader and make as you will
To create a believer instead of a pill
And collapse in a landscape where sunshine remains
That is slow on the uptake but loves a refrain

A silhouette is hidden, all things forgiven
Make me a living out of ashes and clay
Say it's a mission, my own decision
Sweet old derision that'll listen when the prison shelters the sky

And I would trap myself in amber like you said I should

I'm only wishing you would listen to the
Noises around that're trying to speak
While the headphones are blaring to songs on repeat
So no matter how little attention you give
They'll stroll to the sunset and learn how to live

I wouldn't help you if I could
I'm trapped to pieces, broken wood
I wouldn't bother, oh that's another thing I wanted you to say before
I heard the slam of the door.
